I have published several books in German that cover the law and business of the media industry, in particular the music and film industry:

A comprehensive guide to practical issues of German music and copyright law (Springer-Verlag, 2007).

The book covers, for instance, band formation and management contracts, performance contracts, music publishing contracts, recording artist contracts, producer contracts, licensing contracts, sound recording and editorial distribution contracts, film music, and soundtrack contracts.

A comprehensive guide to practical issues of German film and copyright law (Springer-Verlag, 3rd ed. 2009).

The book explains the relevant legal issues from script development, production, and financing to the exploitation of films. It covers all the important contracts, such as screenwriter contracts, co-production agreements, merchandising licenses, film music contracts, director contracts, TV production agreements, contracts with film foundations, employment contracts, and distribution and world sales agreements.

Der Künstlermanagementvertrag

A legal examination of the artist management contract in the music business (Springer-Verlag, 2013).

The book covers all relevant legal issues with respect to the formation, execution, and cancellation of management contracts.

Law on music titles

In 2019, I dealt with the protection of work titles in the journal WRP, in particular with respect to the law of titles on musical works.
